Solving Anti-Corrosion Problems of Pipelines in Saline-Alkali Land: Mass-Produced Self-Developed Epoxy Powder Replaces High-Priced Imported Materials
Q2 2026 saw the mass production of self-developed salt-alkali resistant FBE fusion bonded epoxy powder from Hebei Jiachi. The product passed 1000-hour neutral salt spray and simulated acid-base soil corrosion tests, suitable for buried water and oil-gas pipelines in saline-alkali, high-chloride areas of North and Northwest China.
Modified with nano fillers, the powder greatly improves the coating’s ion penetration resistance. Combined with the 3PE outer anti-corrosion layer, the double-layer system resists soil with pH 2–12 and maintains stable toughness without cracking under -40℃. Two series including food-grade for municipal water and heavy anti-corrosion grade for oil & gas fit DN15-DN2600 steel pipes and comply with national standards CJ/T120 and GB/T23257.
The powder has been supplied in bulk to water conservancy and oil-gas projects in Hebei, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia, cutting the overall procurement cost of contractors by 28% compared with imported powder. Jiachi R&D laboratory keeps developing antibacterial and high-temperature resistant special powder, boosting high-quality construction of domestic underground pipelines with high-performance domestic materials.
