Jiachi Special Epoxy Powder for 3PE Applied to Oil & Gas Gathering Pipeline Project in Saline-Alkali Tidal Flat of North China Oilfield
Recently, the buried pipeline project of peripheral gathering and transportation branch lines of North China Oilfield has been completed and put into operation. The pipeline crosses extensive saline-alkali tidal flats and wetlands with high chloride ion content in the soil, leading to prominent risks of electrochemical corrosion. Jiachi special fusion bonded epoxy powder for 3PE primer (FBE Primer) is uniformly adopted as the anti-corrosion primer for the whole line.
The 3PE anti-corrosion production line operates at high speed continuously, which requires the epoxy powder to deliver stable melting and leveling performance as well as good compatibility with the intermediate adhesive. The pipeline is equipped with special-shaped fittings such as elbows and compensators, where ordinary powder tends to cause coating cracking, peeling and falling off.
With years of R&D experience in heavy-duty anti-corrosion materials, Jiachi developed modified special epoxy powder for 3PE. After melting, it forms stable chemical bonds with steel substrates. It features stable temperature resistance, strong impact resistance and excellent compatibility with polyethylene adhesive, ensuring intact coating on straight pipes and special-shaped fittings.
Third-party test results of the project show that key indicators including peel strength and cathodic disbondment of the anti-corrosion layer exceed national standards. Since the project was commissioned, the anti-corrosion layer of buried pipelines remains intact and successfully resists continuous erosion from saline-alkali soil. This cooperation further expands the application scenarios of Jiachi powder in long-distance oil & gas transmission and buried gathering pipelines for oilfields.
